Frances Ridley Havergal (1836-1879) was an English poet and hymnwriter. She began writing verse at age of seven. Her most widely known hymn is “Take My Life and Let It Be”, and she also wrote the words for “Like A River Glorious,” “I Gave My Life for Thee,” and “Who Is on the Lord’s Side?” She published several volumes of poems and hymns as well as prose writings. These devotional writings sold in the millions during her lifetime.
There is a sad shortage of FRH’s writings available today. Most of her writings are out of print and in the public domain. The purpose of this site is to bring these writings to life on the web and to introduce a new generation of Christian readers to excerpts from her wonderful, Christ-honoring work. Her writings are rich with the Scriptures and serve as a welcome antidote today to the man-centered, biblically unfaithful writings in today’s compromised evangelicalism. It is my prayer that these writings will bless and strengthen you as they have me. I will be adding more of Havergal’s writings on a regular basis so check back often. Thank You so much and may God richly bless you and protect you in Christ Jesus, our Lord.

I came across a book that looks to be very old and valuable. It is Kept for The Masters Use by Havergal. It is a very good book, do you know its worth? It is an original.
